- FAQs
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes, we are fully licensed and insured. We carry general liability insurance to protect you and our team during the roofing project. Our subcontractors are all required to sign an agreement confirming they carry their own workers’ compensation insurance. We would be happy to provide proof of our credentials upon request.
What types of roofing materials do you work with?
We have extensive experience working with a variety of roofing materials, including:
- Asphalt shingles (various types and grades) – We deal with GAF the most since we are certified with them.
- Metal roofing (standing seam, R-panel, trapezoidal, stamped, retrofit/flute fill, etc.) – I was about to list them all, but we handle about 30-40 different types of metal roofing, especially since stamped metals offer many finishes like shingle, tile, shake, slate, and more.
- Tile roofing (clay, concrete, metal)
- Commercial roofing systems (TPO, EPDM, PVC, modified bitumen, roof coatings, roof insulations, etc.)
- Custom sheet metal fabrications: trim, drip edges, fascia, soffits, gutters, downspouts, collector heads, etc.
We can help you determine the best material for your home’s style and budget.
How long will a roof replacement take?
The duration of a roof replacement depends on several factors, including the size and complexity of your roof, weather conditions, and the type of roofing material. Typically, a standard residential roof replacement can take between 1 to 3 days. As for commercial projects, we will provide you with a more accurate timeline after assessing your specific project.
How much does a new residential asphalt shingle roof cost?
The cost of a new residential asphalt shingle roof varies significantly based on factors like roof size and complexity, type of roofing material, accessibility of the roof, and any necessary repairs to the underlying structure. On average, homeowners can expect to pay between $5,000 and $40,000 for a asphalt shingle roof, with costs typically ranging from $300 to $700 per square (100 square feet), including materials and labor. For the most precise and reliable estimate, please schedule a roof inspection with our team.
How can I tell if my roof needs replacing?
Several indicators suggest your roof may require replacement:
- Damaged Shingles:
- Missing shingles
- Cracked shingles
- Curled or buckled shingles
- Granule Loss: Noticeable loss of granules (the small, protective pebbles on asphalt shingles).
- Water Damage:
- Leaks in the attic
- Water stains on ceilings
- Roof Deck Issues: A sagging roof deck, which may indicate structural problems or roof deterioration.
- Rot or Mold: Visible signs of rot or mold growth on the roof surface.
- Age: If your roof is over 5 years old consider a professional inspection.
Do you offer any warranties on your work?
Yes, we do. We offer a comprehensive 10-year warranty that covers our workmanship. Furthermore, the roofing materials we use are backed by manufacturer warranties. We’ll ensure you receive complete warranty documentation in writing.
How often should I have my roof inspected?
To ensure the longevity and integrity of your roof, we suggest scheduling inspections biannually, once in the spring and once in the fall. Additionally, prompt inspections after any major weather event, such as hail or high winds, are essential for preventative maintenance.
What should I do if my roof is damaged in a storm?
If your roof is damaged in a storm:
- Prioritize your safety. Avoid going on the roof yourself.
- Contact your insurance company immediately to file a claim.
- Take photos or videos of the damage for documentation.
- Contact Texas Building & Roofing Co. for a professional inspection and estimate.
Do you assist with insurance claims?
Yes, we have experience working with insurance companies and can assist you with the claims process. We can provide detailed documentation of the damage and work with your adjuster to ensure a smooth and efficient claim.
How do I choose the best roofing material for my home?
Choosing the right roofing material depends on several factors, including your budget, the style of your home, and the climate in your area. We can assess your needs and provide recommendations based on your specific situation. We will consider things like the roofs slope, and the average weather conditions of your area.
